Kamasi Washington Kamasi Washington, saxophone tenor Rickey Washington, Flute / Saxophone soprano Ryan Porter, trombone Brandon Coleman, keyboard Robert Miller, drums Miles Mosley, double bass Tony Austin, drums Patrice Quinn, voice Kamasi Washigton's apprenticeship is incredible: Lauryn Hill, Raphael Saadiq, Snoop Dog, Kendrick Lamar. So it is not surprising to discover that his triple album 'The Epic' was released in 2015 on the electro and rap and instrumental label Brainfeeder. Respectful to his elders (Dolphy, Coleman, Mingus..) but free of musical clans, the powerful Californian saxophonist, a real phenomenon, assures his singularity on stage. Mixing audiences and generations around a music with an electrifying groove, he takes in all of the heritage of the Great Black Music.
